Aimpoint Hunter H34L vs. H34S | Optics Trade Debates

Welcome to Optics Trade debates. In each episode, we talk about a different topic and try to answer the most common questions we receive about it. Today, we are talking about the Aimpoint Hunter H34L and H34S.

The only difference between the H34L and H34S is in the length. The devices are basically identical in terms of optical performance.

The H34 is available as a short and a long model. The main difference is in the overall length and the mounting length.

The S has a shorter mounting length. It’s usually put on mounts which are not sensitive to the mounting length.

H34L has a longer mounting length and is usually mounted on long action rifles.

The H34S and H34L are the same in terms of optics, therefore you can’t go wrong with the L, because it can be mounted on more sensitive scopes as the S.

The newer models are made with flip-up covers which limit the placement of the mounting rings. The older models don’t have flip-up covers and the mounting limit is indicated with tape.
