Hello and welcome to another Optics Trade Debates video. Today we will talk about the differences between two Holosun Infiniti red dot model families, the HS402 and the HS502 models.
Since we already spent much time and dedicated several videos to discussing the general features of both models families, let’s just dive straight to the point.
The main difference is in the reticle. The HS402 models feature only the standard 2 MOA dot reticle. The HS502 models on the other hand, offer the multi-reticle feature. That means that the users can switch between the standard 2 MOA dot or the circle reticle, that is, the 2 MOA dot surrounded by a 65 MOA circle around it.
Another, smaller variation between the two model families is in the size of solar panels. The solar panel on the HS402 is a bit smaller in size than the one on the HS502 models. That is understandable, since the multi-dot reticle feature may require more solar energy to function without battery power.
Only one model in the HS402 model family comes without the solar panel. But all the HS502 models feature those. There is also the HS502CU model that has no matching ‘CU’ model in the HS402 family – so the option of shrouded turrets in only available in the HS502 one. Nevertheless, all models with the letter ‘C’ in the name are nearly identical (save from the multi-reticle feature of ‘500’ models and the standard 2 MOA reticle of ‘400’ models).
Everything else (from the battery location, housing material, position of control buttons to the Shake Awake™ function) is completely the same in both model families. So, hopefully, this video explained it all.
