Aimpoint Hunter H30L vs. H30S | Optics Trade Debates

Welcome to Optics Trade debates. In each episode, we talk about a different topic and try to answer the most common questions we receive about it. Today, we are going to talk about Aimpoint Hunter H30L and H30S.

The Aimpoint Hunter H30L and H30S are basically the same in terms of optical quality. The main difference between them is the mounting and overall length.

The short version goes on all rifles that don’t have any mounting problems, while the long version is usually mounted on long action rifles, where the mounting rings have to be positioned farther apart.

The newer models are made with flip-up covers which limit the placement of the mounting rings. The older models don’t have flip-up covers and the mounting limit is indicated with tape.
