Pulsar Axion XM30 vs Pulsar Axion XM38 thermal monoculars

Hello and welcome to another episode of Optics Trade Debates. We are still debating about Pulsar Axion models, but we will focus on similarities and differences between Axion XM30 and Axion XM38 this time. We already mentioned a few details about these two products in other videos about Pulsar Axion models, so we will be quite short this time.

Axion XM38 has a bigger objective lens, namely with a diameter of 38 mm, and features a 5.5x minimum magnification that can be digitally increased to 22x, thanks to 4x digital zoom. Axion XM30 has a 30 mm objective lens and features a 4x magnification that can be digitally increased up to 16x. So, both models have a 4x digital zoom.

The housing on both is made from magnesium.

They both feature an AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels and Wi-Fi connectivity via the Stream Vision app, so you can view thermal images on your tablet or smartphone.

Monoculars also differ in the detection range. XM30 can detect objects at 1300 m, whereas XM38, thanks to the wider lens, can detect objects at a greater distance, up to 1700 m.

Furthermore, with XM38 you see the details better, while XM30 features a wider field of view, so it will perform better at a close range.

The price difference between these two models is about 300 €. The XM30 costs 1990 € and XM38 is 2290 €.
