You have probably seen the whole video series we did on Leica binoculars, both classic and LRF ones. Today’s video pertains to Leica laser rangefinding binoculars Geovid HD-B and how it differs from Geovid HD-B 3000.
Leica Geovid HD-B series (8×42, 10×42 and 8×56) was launched in 2013 and the 3000 models were introduced in the 2018.
The three HD-B 3000 models are: 8×42, 10×42 and 8×56.
So, what is the difference between Leica Geovid HD-B VS Geovid HD-B 3000?
The range of detection of the older models is 2000 yards (1829 metres), while the newest addition boasts a detection range of 3000 yards (2743 metres). So, the customer gains almost one additional kilometre and in this category of products, that’s quite a lot.
Of course 1829 metres is already plenty for an average hunter. The extended detection range helps but it is in no way crucial.
It is, however, true that Leica also released two limited editions in the meantime.The 2200 edition was the first Geovid HD-B upgrade with an extended range of detection, followed by another in 2017. Interestingly, the models launched in 2017 (8×42 HD-B and 10×42 HD-B) have a green-coloured housing.
