Pulsar Quantum Lite XQ23V vs. XQ30V | Optics Trade Debates

Welcome to Optics Trade debates. In each episode, we talk about a different topic and try to answer the most common questions we receive about it. Today, we are going to talk about the main differences between the Pulsar Quantum Lite XQ23V and XQ30V.

There are almost no physical differences between these two devices. The only noticeable differences are the longer objective part with an inserted additional ring and the bigger lens on the model 30. The diameters of the lenses on the XQ23V and XQ30V are, as the name would suggest 23 mm and 30 mm.

Pulsar is known to experiment. They have a lot of products that are almost the same but have different lenses, which results in different optical properties.

The small model can detect a deer on 800 m, the bigger one on 900 m. The model 30 has a better resolution than the 23 because it has a narrower field of view.

These two models are the closest of any two Pulsar products in terms of optical performance. It’s really hard to see the difference between them.

The field of view is 29 m on 1000 m on the small model and 22 m on a 1000 m on the bigger model. The magnification on the 23 starts at 1.8x and goes up to 8x, while the magnification on the 30 starts at 2,5x and goes up to 10x.

These two devices are very similar, but there’s still a price difference. The XQ23V costs about 1400 € and the XQ30V about 1600 €.

The 23 is better for close range use because of the wider field of view, and the 30 is better for observing details. The differences are minuscule, so you can’t go wrong with either. These two devices are the only ones in this price range with their quality.

  • Hi! it´s that true, you can detect a wildboar from 800 meters with xq23V? Which is the best model Price/quality for detecting wildboars from big distance?

    Regards

    • Hello! Unfortunately, you cannot detect and identify a wildboar at a distance of 800 meters with Quantum XQ23V. The models with which you could detect a wildboar at such distance are Pulsar Helion XP and XQ models, but I’m afraid the identification would still be impossible.

  • Thanks for your comment!! From what distance could you detect an aminal with a similar size of a wildboar? no matter identification. I mean with Quantum xq23V…
