Welcome to Optics Trade debates. In each episode, we talk about a different topic and try to answer the most common questions we receive about it. Today we are going to talk about the differences between the Aimpoint Micro H-1 and the Aimpoint 9000.
These models are similarly priced and are entry level Aimpoints. They are well made and that’s why they have a high price. These are entry-level because they are the previous generation of red dots from Aimpoint.
The 9000 is a full tube red dot, so it’s almost as big as a small riflescope. It has enough space for two mounting rings and has a 30mm tube. It’s much bigger and heavier than the H-1. The H-1 is mounted on the standard Micro platform.
The 9000 comes in a short and long version. The 9000L can accommodate longer actions, and the 9000SC is a bit more elegant and smaller. In terms of optics, both models are the same.
The Micro H-1 can be mounted on all rifles that have an available Micro mount. It is much smaller and more elegant than the 9000.
Both 9000 models are mounted with two rings. The 9000SC can only be mounted on rifles that have a short action. If our customers aren’t sure which to choose we always recommend the long version because it can be mounted on more or less all riflescopes.
The H-1 and the 9000 come with a 2 MOA or a 4 MOA dot. The dot definition is very similar. The 9000 has a bigger window and consequently a better eye box.
The tint on these red dots is almost unnoticeable in comparison with most other red dots.
The H-1 uses a CR2032 battery and the 9000 uses a 2L76 or DL1/3N. The battery life is really long because the battery consumption is minuscule. One battery can be used for 5-6 years without a problem.
The 9000 series costs about 600-650 €, while the H-1 about 700 €.
